In yet another effort to emulate his dad on social media — or perhaps just to stay relevant on Twitter — Donald Trump, Junior took a shot at former President Barack Obama. During testimony before Congress, Attorney General William Barr said two different things: First he said Obama’s DOJ did spy on the Trump campaign — a meritless claim that’s been made any number of times by any number of Trump apologists — and then by the end of the testimony, he had walked it back:
I am not saying that improper surveillance occurred. I am saying that I am concerned about it and I’m looking into it.”
We’re guessing that Junior turned off the television after the first part, because he clearly didn’t hear the second:
Yes, it appears that you do… https://t.co/EBaeLljU8r

Quote-tweeting an old post of Obama’s from during his presidency in which he was visiting a classroom and playing a classic game with a child called “I Spy,” Don re-captioned the scene with the phrase “Yes, it appears that you do.”
Unfortunately for young Donnie, America stayed tuned in for the rest of the testimony, and everyone else heard Barr retract his assertion that Obama had “spied” on Trump during the campaign. Social media users tore Junior apart:
There is a difference between a criminal investigation and spying. Ask your friend Putin.

Says the guy who took a meeting with Russian Intelligence on U.S. soil. In Trump Tower, no less. The mother ship. You’re a regular Thomas Jefferson, boy!
