Between news of indictments and revelations of coverups, outright lies and fact-twisting from the Oval Office, and endless pictures of the First Family engaged in totally out-of-touch behavior, it’s hard to imagine what kind of photo might perfectly encapsulate the last three years.
We think we may have found it.
Jennifer Jacobs, the White House reporter for Bloomberg, tweeted two photos that just might be the epitome of how the country feels about the current state of affairs in America, and although it’s funny at first glance, the irony here will hit you like a ton of bricks:

Here are the images apart from the tweet:
Sure, there are plenty of jokes to be made here, and some social media users did just that:

Do they have one that can hold 6’3″ 239lb. rat? Actually, it needs to be shorter and wider, the rat lies about its weight.

Those don’t look big enough… and wouldn’t it be easier to place them inside the Oval Office?

But the fact is, we’ve never been more appalled by the corruption, the underhandedness, the pure avarice coming from our own government as we are by the current administration and the Republicans in Congress who let Donald Trump and his family get away with anything they want to do.
And for every comment on the tweet naming some rat they must be angling for — Eric Trump, Stephen Miller, Ivanka, William Barr — the truth is, there’s one rat that’s bigger, badder, and dirtier than all the rest: The President himself.
If those boxes said “SDNY” on the side, I might feel a whole lot better.
