I’m not sure what it is among conservatives that makes them think “Hollywood types” aren’t qualified to weigh in on politics, but someone like, say, Kanye West or Kid Rock has just the kind of gravitas required to appear at the White House for bill signings or policy discussions.
Actually, scratch that — I totally know why they’re like that. It’s because the vast majority of “Hollywood types” absolutely despise conservative politics. Sure, there are a few actors and celebrities who are Republicans, but I bet you’d run out of names off the top of your head before you ran out of fingers if you counted them.
Some, however, are far more vocal than others. There are those who are outspoken women’s rights advocates on social media, environmental activists you’d never expect, and even magical people that kids all over the world adore advocating for the LGBTQ+ community.
And then there’s Robert DeNiro.
Man, that guy hates Donald Trump. I mean, yeah, of course, but holy COW. You could make a movie about all the times he’s told Trump to fuck off publicly if only you could find someone to play Robert DeNiro convincingly.
In fact, the last time he had a good jeer at Trump’s expense was at the Tony Awards last year, and it turned quite a few heads:
Robert De Niro’s hatred for Trump is one of the funniest things in the world 😂😂😂

But last night, Bob was handing out accolades to honorees at the American Icon Awards in LA — his pal Al Pacino got named, Quincy Jones, a whole bunch of righteous characters — and he went a little further than he’s gone in public before. That’s not to say he launched into some kind of speech you wouldn’t hear at any given bar in America, mind you, but there were a lot of cameras present, and TMZ’s happened to catch him telling the crowd, “You didn’t think you were gonna get away without a ‘Fuck Trump’ moment, did you?”:
He didn’t hold back, either.
[The] individual who currently purports to lead America is not worthy of any tribute. Unless you think of his impeachment and imprisonment as a sort of tribute. Now that’s how you can make America great again.”
We couldn’t agree more, Bob.
