How does Donald Trump almost manage to ruin Memorial Day even from 6,000 miles away? I mean, I guess he’s just being himself, but starting the day with some kind of unhinged diatribe about impeachment and Mueller and Democrats on a day when ALL he should be tweeting is respectful messages honoring fallen soldiers… It’s like PEAK Donald Trump.
The thing is, we know he’ll never stop. He’s always been this way, and having millions of followers on Twitter has only made him worse. Social media seems to do that to a person: Takes their best or worst qualities and amplifies them.
But as much as we all wish Trump would shut the hell up for one day, at least we have someone who occasionally tweets something that reminds us what it was like to have a President who actually has walls in his house that aren’t covered in mirrors — Barack Obama. And when he DOES tweet, it has the added bonus of pissing off Trump as well, and making him look like a fool, probably because it’s always on some topic or day that Trump should be acting like a normal person, but isn’t.
On Memorial Day, we remember all those who gave everything for something greater than themselves. It’s up to us to not simply reflect on their sacrifice but to honor it with service of our own—and by living out the values they fought for. pic.twitter.com/tZx3qcHnfV

Here, the former President is seen hugging the widow of First Lieutenant Tyler E. Parten of the 61st Cavalry, killed by a rocket-propelled grenade in Kunar Province, Afghanistan, on September 10, 2009. Parten was a graduate of West Point, a native of Arkansas, and by all accounts a formidable soldier.
And after reading that paragraph, you know more about that fallen hero than Donald Trump will ever know about any dead American.
